Alena Džebo

Actress, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Alena Džebo was born in 1978 in Sarajevo. She graduated acting from Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts in 2002.

 

As a freelancer she acted in numerous theatre plays at the Open Stage Obala, Sarajevo, and in theaters in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar, Zenica, London, Toronto, USA. During the study and as a professional actress, she has upgraded her education through various workshops and seminars.

 

She is a member of several organizations where she works on the cultural programs for children and youth. In 2015 UNICEF BH granted her a recognition Inclusion champion for her work and promotion of recording books for the Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as an inclusive drama work with children with special needs.

 

She has acted in TV series, radio plays, and short and feature films that were screened at film festivals around the world. For the title role in SABINA K, Cristobal Kruse, she has won the Best Actress Award at the CMM Film Festival 2016 and also Best Actress Award at the Jaipur International Film Festival India in 2017 and she was also awarded as Best Actress for her role in IMPORT by Ena Sendijarević at 18. Lucania Film Festival.
