Regional Acting Talents Conquer Europe: Fifth, Most Dynamic Edition of the “ReActing as a Star” Platform Concludes

The fifth edition of the international platform ReActing as a Star has successfully concluded, reaffirming its status as a key and unique regional meeting point for acting talent and leading European film professionals. From June 12 to 14, an intensive three-day program hosted twelve selected actors and actresses from Southeast Europe, offering them, through expert workshops, panels, and one-on-one meetings, a direct gateway to developing international careers and networking within the European audiovisual community.
ReActing as a Star 2026 Returns for Its 5th Edition: Regional Acting Talents and Leading European Casting Directors Gather in Slovenia
KRANJ, Slovenia – The unique regional platform ReActing as a Star, which connects the film industry with talented actors from Southeast Europe, announces its fifth edition. This prestigious networking and professional development programme will begin on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Produced by Pari Pikule and Secret Arts Cinema, the programme is organized in partnership with the Slovenian Film Centre and with the support of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Film Center Serbia, and the Film Centre of Montenegro. The project’s international relevance is further confirmed by its long-standing cooperation with the world’s leading casting director associations, the International Casting Directors Association (ICDA) and the Casting Society (CSA), whose support guarantees the high professional standard of the entire event.
International Casting Directors Applaud Southeast European Acting Talent at ReActing as a Star
The fourth edition of the international industry networking and training program ReActing as a Star, dedicated to strengthening connections between actors from the region, leading international casting directors and talent agents, took place from June 13 to 15 in Kranj, Slovenia. Under the motto “Play locally, act internationally”, the program gathered 12 selected actors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia for three dynamic days of showcasing talent, workshops, and meaningful professional exchange. The program is built on the collaboration of national film funds, united in their mission to strengthen regional cinema through cross-border collaboration and internationalize the visibility of their actors.

The third edition of the international Industry Networking program ReActing as a Star, dedicated to connecting actors from the region with European casting directors, film directors, and other audiovisual professionals, as well as increasing their mobility and representation in the European film industry, will be held from June 14 to 16 in Kranj, Slovenia, during the KRAFFT acting film festival. Under the motto 'Act locally, perform internationally!', this year's edition of the program will see 15 talented actors from the region engage in three days of activities designed to develop their skills, expand their industry knowledge, and create connections on both a regional and European level.

The new international programme ReActing as a Star, aiming at encouraging the networking between the film and audiovisual actors in the region, and at increasing their presence in the European film industry, took place for the first time in the framework of the second edition of the Kranj Actors Film Festival (KRAFFT), on 16-19 June 2022.
ReActing as a Star – Performing locally, acting globally
For the very first time, a new international programme titled ReActing as a Star, dedicated to encouraging the networking between the film and audiovisual actors in the region and increasing their presence in the European film industry, will take place in the framework of the second edition of the Krafft Actors Film Festival in Kranj between 16 and 19 June.

During the CineLink Industry Days in cooperation with the Sarajevo Film Festival, on 17 August 2022, the directors of film centres from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro signed a three-year Memorandum of Cooperation, which has resulted from the successful organisation of the first international programme dedicated to actors from this region, promoting their networking as well as increasing their mobility and visibility in the European film industry.
