Amila Terzimehić

Actress, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Amila Terzimehić was born in 1988 in Sarajevo, where she finished elementary school and then the First Gymnasium. From the age of seven to twenty, she practiced rhythmic gymnastics at the "Bosna" club. For all thirteen years, she was the state champion in every competition, and in 2004, she was the Olympic candidate for Athens. In 1998, she was elected the most promising athlete in BiH, and in 2005 she was awarded the Special Recognition for the Development of Sports in our country.

 

She graduated on Academy of Performing Arts in September 2011 in the class of prof. Ermin Bravo and ass. Džana Pinjo, at the play murlin murlo by Nikolaj Koljada. In 2010, she was named the student of the generation at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. Amila Terzimehić is the first master of acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.

 

She earned her master’s degree with the play all inclusive, where she researched the performative body in inclusive theater. In November 2015, at the Encounter of Theater Festival in Brčko, she received the award for the best young actress for the character of Ljubica, which she plays in the play THIS TOMB IS SMALL FOR ME directed by Dino Mustafić.

 

In 2018, she received the award for the best actress at the FIST festival in Belgrade for her role in the play ELEKTRA. In 2019, he collaborated with conceptual artist Danica Dakić on two projects (ZENICA TRILOGY, a performance that was shown at the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art), and the work BREATHLESS, BLACK AND LIGHT, which had its premiere at the Pompidou Center in Metz .

 

She has worked on several plays as an associate for movement and choreography, and has been the teacher of dance and acting workshops. The audience has the opportunity to follow Amila's rise as an actress in plays that are part of the repertoire of SARTR, the National Theater, and the Youth Theater in Sarajevo. As in series and movies in the region and abroad.

 

She has played roles in Roger Donaldson’s November Man, Gabriele Salvatores TUTTO IL MIO FOLLE AMORE, Carlo Chiaramonte’s SUMMER DEW, as well as in the TV series THE CLAN. For six years, Amila Terzimehić has been employed at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo as an assistant in the subjects Dance and Fitness Training of Actors.
