Blaž Setnikar was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he also grew up and later graduated from 4-years acting study at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television.

 

His screen roles include Zoran in POSLEDICE, Polak in PSI PREZČASJA, Mark in VLOGA ZA EMO, Selim in ZBUDI ME and Ljubo in the short DO TAKRAT PA…meanwhile being present on the small screen as a part of main casts of NAJINI MOSTOVI, REKA LJUBEZNI and LENINOV PARK series.

 

All along he has been engaged with the major theatres in the country as well, lastly as a member of aesthetically exquisite Kranj’s city theatre, also receiving The Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists and Sever awards for his roles, making stage work an indispensable part of the versatility he strives to as an actor.

 

On screen or stage, character acting is a major interest and passion of his, with eccentrics and anti-heros always being the biggest inspiration also when sitting in the audience. When actor can enrich them with a personal emotional baggage and make them appealing - even better.

 

Knowing that acting is a round-a-clock occupation, new interests and hobbies are an inseparable with his work, whether it is piano, guitar or once a violin he studied for roles; nature skills, or his favorite - languages; so far being fluent in English, German, Serbo-Croat-Bosnian and Slovene.
