Cassandra Han is an Artois-nominated casting director who has been based in Europe since 2003. Based in Munich with an additional office in Italy, she is currently casting THE WEIGHT, starring Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe. Her recent work includes THE GERMAN for Lionsgate and Yes Studios, which won Best Screenplay in Competition at the 2025 SeriesMania Festival; SAMIA, directed by Yasemin Samdereli, which was filmed entirely in the Somali language and received a Special Jury Mention at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival as well as the Audience Award at the 2024 Munich Film Festival; and the sequel to Germany’s 2011 box office hit THE PHYSICIAN, produced by Zeitsprung for Constantin, Amazon, BETA, and ZDF. Her Casting Italy work includes James Mangold’s Oscar-winning FORD V FERRARI, Terrence Malick’s A HIDDEN LIFE (Cannes 2019), and two seasons of Gaumont’s hit Netflix series BARBARIANS. Her arthouse credits include BAD DIRECTOR by German auteur Oskar Roehler, which earned Anne Ratte-Polle a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the German Film Academy, as well as Roehler’s upcoming film ABSEITS. She also handled US casting for SISTERS, a Latvian-Italian co-production that won Best Film at the Warsaw International Film Festival. On the international stage, Cassandra has cast two feature films for Akson Studio, Poland’s leading production company: FILIP (Netflix) and the upcoming CHOPIN, A SONATA IN PARIS for StudioCanal. She just finished up UK casting for the feature film QUEZON by TBS Studios in the Philippines, part of an Oscar-nominated trilogy, and the upcoming series BLACK GOLD. Cassandra is President of the Global Chapter of Casting Society (CSA), a founding member of the Italian chapter of Women in Film, a member of the ICDA as well as the German and European Film Academies. She has served on juries for European Film Promotion’s Shooting Stars at the 2021 Berlinale and the 2023 Tallinn Black Nights Stars.
