Dalibor Matanić is a Croatian film, TV, theatre, and commercial director. He has directed eleven feature films, several short films, and documentaries, three TV series, five theatre plays and many commercials.

 

He won Un Certain Regard, a jury prize at the 2015 Cannes film festival for THE HIGH SUN – the first part of TRILOGY OF THE SUN. He directed the TV series THE PAPER (3 seasons, 2016 – 2020), the first TV series from South-eastern Europe bought for global Netflix distribution and had a great success with drama series THE LAST SOCIALIST ARTEFACT and SILENCE.

 

He is one of five European directors who made the first series of short films on #EUANDME topics.

Besides many international awards for best director, he has won three Golden arena awards for best directing at the national Pula film festival. He is a member of the European film academy (EFA) and the Croatian guild of directors (DHFR).
