Alexandra Koknat
Casting Director
Alexandra Koknat is a Berlin-based casting director. After working in various fields across film and theatre, she found her way into casting in 2014. Her work focuses on international arthouse cinema as well as streaming productions. Notable credits include BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ (2020) by Burhan Qurbani and WHERE TO? (2026) by Assaf Machnes, both selected for the Berlinale, as well as TO A LAND UNKNOWN (2024) by Mahdi Fleifel, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Most recently, she worked on the horror feature BLOODY TENNIS, directed by Nikias Chryssos and set to premiere in late 2026. Her streaming credits include the mini-series GERMAN GENIUS (2021), directed by Detlev Buck and Cüneyt Kaya, SACHERTORTE (2022) on Amazon, and BLAME THE GAME (2023) on Netflix. With a background in cultural anthropology, she is driven by a strong interest in people and authenticity, which has led her to develop a particular passion for complex international casting processes and the discovery of new talent beyond conventional pathways.
