Jelena Laban
Actress
Jelena Laban is a Montenegrin theatre and film actress. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Acting from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje. Her work to date has been marked by participation in numerous domestic and international projects and co-productions. In theatre, she has collaborated with some of the most prominent regional and European directors, such as Jernej Lorenci, Andraš Urban, Javor Gardev, Tomi Janežič, and Mirko Radonjić, actively contributing to the Montenegrin cultural scene. In addition to a series of short films, her film career has gained significant momentum with the premieres of the feature films OTTER (2025), directed by Srđan Vuletić, and THE FLOOD (2025), directed by Dušanka Belada. She is committed to continuous international professional development; in 2025, she attended the prestigious International Screen Acting Workshop at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. She also participated in the "One Minute Monologue" workshop in Tirana (2024), as well as a workshop with Djamila Hansen (2026). Jelena has a background in musical training and is a recipient of several international awards in the field of Actor’s Voice. She further expressed her musical talent as a member of the Montenegrin punk band Pojačano prisustvo, with whom she released the 2023 album U mojoj kući (In My House). She is fluent in English and regional languages and possesses basic knowledge of Russian and Italian.
