Urban Kuntarić

Urban Kuntarič born in 1996 in Ljubljana, is a Slovenian theatre, film, and television actor. After graduating from Vič High School, he enrolled at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), where he studied acting under the mentorship of Boris Ostan and Janusz Kica. He completed his master’s degree in 2019 with the production of Harvest and Curse, a play based on Slovenian mythology. Since 2019, he has been a member of the SLG Celje, where he has created a number of notable stage roles in productions such as THE SERFS, ANOTHER PAST, KOKKOLA, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, THE POWER OF DARKNESS, THE CARNIOLAN COMEDIANS, and others. Already during his studies, he collaborated with several Slovenian theatres, including Ljubljana City Theatre (MGL), Anton Podbevšek Theatre, and the SNG Drama Ljubljana.  Alongside his theatre work, he regularly performs in film and television. He appeared in the films CONSEQUENCES directed by Darko Štante, LET HIM BE A BASKETBALL PLAYER by Boris Petkovič, and ALENKA by Kristian Irgl. He is currently involved in the feature films MILA/MARIJA (dir. Andrina Mračnikar) and GIRL IN THE NIGHT (dir. Luka Marčetič), in which he plays the leading role of Rok. He is also widely recognized for his role as Sebastijan Zajc in the television series IN THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE, for which he received the Veliki plan award from the Slovenian screen actors guild (DSI).
