Janko Popović Volarić

Janko Popović Volarić is a Croatian actor born in 1980 in Zagreb, where he graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2009. He has acted in more than fifty plays in theatres throughout Croatia as well as in Serbia, and filmed more than forty films and TV series in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Montenegro. He is the winner of a dozen theatre and film awards, including the Golden Arena for Best Actor at the Croatian National Film Festival in Pula, as well as the Omar Sharif Award at the Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries — both for his role as Alan Despot in the film COMIC SANS. He co-wrote three feature films (VIS À VIS, COMIC SANS, THIS IS NOT A LOVE SONG) and produced the feature film THIS IS NOT A LOVE SONG in 2025. He lives and works in Zagreb as a freelance artist.
