Judita Franković Brdar

Actress

Judita Franković Brdar is a Zagreb-born actress whose career began with a role in Vlatka Vorkapić and Zoran Ferić’s 2005 TV series WHEN DOES THE BELL RING?. She continued her successful collaboration with Vorkapić in the theatre play JUDITH FRENCH and the film SONJA AND THE BULL. Her screen appearances include roles in MOTHER OF ASPHALT and DADDY by Croatian director Dalibor Matanić, as well as the lead role in the Croatian TV series REST IN PEACE, which was also broadcast in the United States as part of the Walter Presents project. She played the role of Ana in Miha Mazzini’s film ERASED, a performance that earned her multiple awards, including the FEDEORA Award, the Golden Arena, and the Vesna Award. Judita holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature and Croatian Language from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. Her acting education has included studies of Michael Chekhov, Lee Strasberg, and Jerzy Grotowski techniques, as well as workshops based on methods developed by Lessac, Akram Khan, and Pina Bausch. She also participated in the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Talent Campus and completed an intensive summer Meisner technique training at the William Esper Studio in New York in 2016. In 2018, she served as a jury member in the competition program of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
