Jurij Drevenšek

Jurij Drevenšek is a Slovenian actor born in Maribor. He graduated in acting from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. Early in his career, he performed leading roles in major productions such as HAMLET, MACBETH, HEDDA GABLER, BENT, THE STRANGER, and JACK, OR THE SUBMISSION across the Slovene National Theatre and other key stages. He made his film breakthrough with the leading role in BREAD AND CIRCUSES and has since appeared in prominent Slovenian titles including HALF-SISTER, SHOOTING BLANKS, TARTINI'S KEY, IDYLL, and THE CURSE OF VALBURGA, earning two Vesna Awards for Best Supporting Actor. His international credits include NOMAD, GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA, STRIKE BACK, MASTER AND MARGARITA, EUER EHREN, HAMILTON, and IMMERSTILL. On Slovenian television, he is known for BRAT BRATU and CASES OF INSPECTOR VRENKO, and hosted the satirical BOB LETA awards from 2018 to 2022. In 2012, he was selected as a Berlinale Talents participant. He is a co-founder of the Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia and served as its president from 2022 to 2024. He lives in Ljubljana and works as a freelance artist.
